5 Nov 2018 - Welcome to my first broadcast

These are notes for my first broadcast, an install/config/test of the most recent version (3.3) of my CMS perl-handler

New Arch Linux VM - invictus.perl-user.com (no public ip)

Welcome to my first broadcast/screen-share

I'll be installing a copy of the newest version of my CMS software on a brand new Arch Linux VM.

So far, all it has is the pacstrap of base, initial config and reboot. Then pacman -S of openssh, git, base-devel, and vim. Grub got installed during initial config.

That's just enough to login from my desktop VM and clone my repo.

I will need Apache, PostgreSQL and a bunch more packages for my perl handler to work.

I think this may be useful enough to store as
http://perl-user.com/arch-cms3-install

My .bashrc on arch-server

export PATH=/home/phil/bin:$PATH

source ~/.z >/dev/null 2>&1
export SSH_AGENT_PID

P=`ps -x |grep $SSH_AGENT_PID|grep -v grep `

if [ "$P" ]
  then
    echo "ssh-agent $SSH_AGENT_PID found"
  else
    echo "setting up new ssh-agent"
    /usr/bin/ssh-agent > ~/.z
    source ~/.z >/dev/null 2>&1
    /usr/bin/ssh-add
  fi
export SSH_AGENT_PID
export SSH_ASKPASS
export SSH_AUTH_SOCK

alias vi='vim'

It's a little different when I used Git Bash from windows, but pretty close to that.
